Current music:some latin-y piece with a flute from, Espace Musique

88.1 FM
I have found a radio music station in Fredericton I actually like. It's the CBC radio 2, but french. Espace musique. http://www.radio-canada.ca/radio2/

I found it while painting my room a few months ago, and I've since come to like it more and more. I only listen to it when I'm going to or from work at the co-op, but it's still nice. They have baroque music playing before 7am, which I've found is, like, the exact type of music which I want to listen to when I'm roused to get up for the day during the middle of the night. Sometime around noon, there're shows which feature more pop/rock/folk ish music, none of it mainstream mainstream, although some of it quebequois mainstreamish I think. Late afternoon, they seem to have world/ethnic music or random other classical, which continues onto the evening. They used to have jazz evenings in the summer, I'm not entirely too sure what they play these evenings. After 10 or 11, at least once a week (maybe I've only listened to this on the same day all the time), there's a show which plays techno. Sure, I obviously don't like everything which is played, and I'm not keen enough about this to remember the names of shows or anything yet, but so far, I'm impressed. I like that it has much more of the 'and beyond' of the 'classics and beyond' slogan the english CBC radio 2 used to have. Its broadcast digitally on the website, so I guess that means its basically broadcast all over the world, which is kinda cool, and the only comments I've heard from auditors (people always use the term 'viewer' here but that really don't make sense) aren't made by canadians.
The fact that it's french isn't at all a detriment for me, although I suppose it would be for non-french speakers, since I'm losing the mediocre french I possess, so hopefully listening to french semi-regularly will at least slow down the loss of it, which I seriously don't want to do. (Bilingual country = bilingual government jobs.) In any case, I find that less than half of their lyrical music (lyrical meaning with lyrics, whether or not that's proper use of the word) is french. But the other half of it is various other languages, not often english.

I think I used to listen to that station way back when I had to get up really early in Fredericton. Baroque music is awesome. I wouldn't even realize it was a French station until I'd listened to it for like 20 mins.
